"Fascia plays the major role in "Brain Therapy for Children and Adults" seminar. Why is it so important? Because its restriction can place a tremendous drag on the craniosacral system. Fascial health is critical to the motion and function of the brain. Unfortunately, the general public has no idea what fascia is. Fascia is connective tissue found everywhere in the body that forms one big web. Connective tissue is aptly named because it connects one body structure to another such as one muscle cell to another, one bone to another, and one organ to another.
The body is made of many different parts, but they are all connected with fascia. If you removed everything else except fascia from the body, you would be left with a three dimensional connective tissue web or "sweater." Fascia consists of cells, fibers, and ground substance (the fluid environment that houses these cells and fibers). Fascia plays an important role in the immune system and inflammatory response. The ground substance is the key to fascial health. Fluidity
of the ground substance allows the cells and fibers to
function well. Not only does fascia intertwine with every structural cell in the body including muscles, bones, nerves, blood vessels, and organs, it can strain up to two thousand pounds per square inch in pressure.
