For Midwives, Doulas, & Nurse/Midwives
. . .
3-½ Day Craniosacral Fascial
Seminar For The
Evaluation and Treatment of Newborns and Mothers
The Participants: Any interested birthing professional
(including midwives, doulas, and nurse'midwives) may attend.
Even though this approach is very new for everyone, you do not need
any previous knowledge or training in craniosacral and/or fascial therapies.
You just need to have an open mind and an open heart.
When: Wednesday, April 23 - Saturday, April 26, 2008
Where: A Mennonite farmhouse at 727 Rettew Mill Road,
Lititz, Pa. 17545. Lititz is located just north of Lancaster, Pa. You
may fly into Philadelphia or Harrisburg; local hotels are plentiful.
The Fee: $975 includes the basic workbook, all instruction,
3 lunches and 2 dinners onsite, and working with local moms and
infants.
The Primary Birthing Teachers: Joan Martin and Ruth
Sensenig from Brickersville, Pa. and Dr. Barry Gillespie from the Philadelphia
area.
Their Background: Joan Martin and Ruth Sensenig are
cutting-edge therapists in the Lancaster area. They primarily work with
children in the Mennonite and Amish communities and have a special interest
in neonates. Their desire is for all of the children in the world to
be healed.
With thirty years of experience in the craniosacral fascial field,
Dr. Gillespie passionately believes that all newborns on the planet
should be checked with the brain score and treated if necessary to prevent
many chronic childhood conditions. For further information about the
work, please go to: healingyourchild.com
and on this website.
Your preparation before the class: When you register,
Joan and Ruth will send you a workbook for the 3-day seminar and a copy
of "The Brain Score," a short medical article by Dr. Gillespie
and Matthew and Carol Newell, via email or regular mail. "The Brain
Score" article is your homework in preparation for the specialized
fourth day.
Dr. Gillespie and the Newells are associated with The Family Hope Center,
an international brain injured center for children, in the Philadelphia
area familyhopecenter.org

The goals: The goals for the seminar are for you to
learn to do the brain score and craniosacral fascial therapy for newborns
and their mothers.
After the seminar we will support midwives, doulas, and nurse/midwives
in any way that we can. We may contact you to see how you are doing,
and you may contact us at any time. We want you to get the basic concept
so that you can help newborns receive the benefit of better health.
We treat the children with their chronic conditions after-the-fact
as they are growing up, but we realize that you hold the key with
evaluation and therapy in the first few minutes of life.
How to register: Please call Joan Martin to register
at 717-626-1295. Students will be taken on a first come, first served
basis until we reach 20 participants. Since this work is so avant-garde
in today’s society, no CEUs are currently available. A certificate
of completion for the basic seminar will be given to each student at
the end.
The Specialized Birthing Program
You would attend the basic 3-day seminar to learn how to treat
children and adults, which ends around 5 PM on the third day. All of
the students taking only the basic seminar would then go home. You would
have dinner on your own, stay over another night, have breakfast on
your own.
The specialized birthing seminar for midwives, doulas, and nurse/midwives
would start at 8:30 AM at the same location. Dr. Gillespie would discuss
the brain score and Joan and Ruth would discuss treatment of the newborn
and pregnant mothers.
At 10 AM we would work with Mennonite moms and their infants for an
hour. You would evaluate and treat one mom, do the brain score on her
baby, and treat the baby.
At 11 AM the process would repeat with new families. At noon we would
have a question and answer session and close the seminar.
The patients would be local Mennonite and Amish moms and their infants.
Every attempt will be made to have patients available, but sickness
and other uncontrollable events at the last minute can happen.
This is our passion, and we look forward to working with you.
