Data Collection Project

The data collection project is a unique contribution to the health care profession.

Its main purpose is for us to examine the data on a large scale from across a wide geographical area to see if the "Brain Therapy" approach can significantly help children and adults with specific chronic conditions.

The amazing aspect of this project is that these results are derived from experienced therapists with only three days of seminar training in the Brain Therapy approach.

The Project

After the student graduates from the Brain Therapy for Children and Adults seminar, he/she treats 40 children and 40 adult conditions to become certified.

One patient may have four conditions (for example, a child with headaches, earaches, asthma, and a learning disorder). The patient fills out and signs a questionnaire that quantifies the results of therapy for each condition. In the case of a child, the parent will fill out the questionnaire.

When the trained therapist has all 80 forms necessary for certification, he/she sends the results to an impartial programmer. The patients and the programmer control the questionnaires. Neither the students nor Dr. Gillespie can tamper with the data. Certification is granted to the therapist regardless of the patients' outcomes.

This data collection project is an experiment to examine the possible efficacy of the Brain Therapy approach on a large scale. We are not attempting to prove anything, regardless of how well the numbers may appear in the future.

If the data appear to be positive, hopefully researchers at NIH and around the world will be spurred to start their own conclusive medical studies to scientifically prove the Brain Therapy approach.

As you enter the project you will find seven children and five adult charts:

Charts For Children

1 - cumulative results of all the children's conditions

Separate charts breaking down the major children's conditions:

2 - asthma

3 - earaches

4 - headaches

5 - hyperactivity

6 - learning disorders

7 - Because the numbers will be small initially, the last chart is a composite of all the other conditions, which are lacrimal duct blockage, colic, strabismus, sinus condition, allergy condition, throat condition, neck ache, torticollis, scoliosis, epilepsy, autism, dyslexia, and cerebral palsy.

When the numbers get very large, we have the capability of creating a separate chart for each condition (like colic).

Charts For Adults

1 - cumulative results of all the adults' conditions:

Breakdown of pain conditions to particular body parts:

2 - head

3 - neck

4 - trunk

5 - limbs

The Project Runs Indefinitely

This project was set up in 2004 and will run indefinitely. As therapists go through the process of certification and eventually complete the clinical requirements, the numbers will grow.

In time the numbers will become significant. As a requirement for certification, for example, each therapist must treat at least 5 asthma children. A positive collective result for 500 children could be very significant in the asthma world! The same could be said for earaches and all of the other conditions.

The ultimate purpose of this project is to be a catalyst to change pediatric and adult care for the better. Maybe there is a better way than drugs and surgery for some conditions.

Enjoy the progress of the project.

"In One Week: 16 Adults And 23 Children

"In the past few months my practice has really taken off.

"For the week ended February 22, 2002 I was surprised to count from my appointment book that I will have treated 16 adults and 23 children. I did not realize that I was so busy.

"But on reflection I realize that Dr. Barry Gillespie's techniques require minimal exertion. The craniosacral and fascial release techniques focus on letting the patient's body release its restrictions.

"I guess that's why I had not noticed the workload of 39 clients in one week.

"Up until recently more than one-half of my clients have been adults. However, the contacts I have made with other health-care professionals during the past year now seem to be changing the mix of patients as to both the type of ailments they present to me and to the growing number of children I am seeing.

"Dr. Gillespie's Training Sets Me Apart.
